VEGAN DISASTERS & LESSONS IN MALTA

VEGAN DISASTERS & LESSONS IN MALTA

Just back from an eye-opening trip to Malta, where I hardly ever ate vegan – and these are some of the things I’ve learned – cause all things (disasters included!) are lessons that god would have us learn 😉

Eating processed, acid forming foods (animal derived things that is) means your body will take a hit. And the cleaner you eat the sooner that hit strikes. I made it through 5 days of seafood/dairy/sugar-filled/gluten-full foods before coming down with an incredibly inflamed throat (because of stagnating acid lymph the body couldn’t get rid off), constant eye twitching , muscle aches and wavering dizziness.

Sticking to even a trace of your daily health routine (for me, that was fruit for breakfast, my morning stretches and daily dose of psyllium husk) + being exposed to plenty of sunlight (and benefiting from that precious vitamin D) will definitely help in withstanding a day or two of troubled eating. But with all that acid forming food coming in, the crash is bound to happen nonetheless.

My hunch is that – out of all shitty stuff I had for lunch and dinner during this recent infamous week – gluten was the most detrimental one. It’s just Mother Intuition sending off some revealing vibes – but I’ve come to believe it more than anything else!
